Chaos
Chaos was my first ceramic project and a study in slip casting. I designed the fruit plate as a surface that makes arranging fruit feel less neutral and more playful, using raised and recessed forms to guide placement.
During modelling, I noticed that the negative form was as interesting as the original. This led to a paired design: two plates that relate through positive and negative shapes, colour, and the possibility of stacking. The square outline also makes the object easier to store, package, and transport.
