Smart Scale
Smart Scale began from a brief about future products for Alessi, but developed into a critical design project. Instead of proposing another intelligent kitchen object, I became interested in the way smart devices increasingly tell people what to do.
The scale questions a future where everyday decisions are delegated to products: what to eat, how to behave, and what counts as a better choice. It uses the familiar language of a smart appliance to reflect on dependence, judgement, and the loss of ordinary thinking in daily life.
