Bird Doorstopper
Bird Doorstopper was a group project with Rosie-Beth Stewart and Jamie Clark in collaboration with G . F Smith. The brief asked us to work with waste paper and develop a product that could be produced at scale.
Our research focused on paper strips produced by guillotine cutting, a common offcut that is usually discarded. We used quilling techniques to curl and pack the strips inside a bird-shaped wooden frame, creating a soft but functional doorstop. The project combines waste reuse, craft logic, and a friendly domestic form.
